BREAKING: Iran says it has launched drones and cruise missiles at Israel
Iranian state media has said Tehran has launched dozens of cruise missiles and drones at Israel.
It said the attacks were aimed at "specific targets".
Daniel Hagari, the Israel Defense Forces spokesman, said the drones would take hours to reach Israel and would be shot down.
Iran had threatened to retaliate for an Israeli attack on one of its consulates in Syria - the US had also said an Iranian strike was possible this weekend.
The White House also said Iran had begun an attack on Israel.
