* Gauteng police have confirmed that the suspect in the Boksburg gas tanker explosion has been released.
* Two suspects arrested in connection with the alleged racial incident that took place at Maselspoort, outside Bloemfontein on Christmas Day, have appeared in court on charges of common assault and Crimen injuria. The pair has been released on warning. Free State police have confirmed that three suspects have been arrested for the attack. The suspects allegedly attacked black teenagers following a dispute over the usage of the swimming pool at the resort. The third suspect is expected to appear in court today on a charge of attempted murder after he allegedly attempted to drown one of the teenagers in the swimming pool.
* Judgment has been reserved until the 4th of January in the matter involving two men accused of assaulting a Pretoria East man in what's suspected to be a racial attack. The two appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court yesterday. They face three counts of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property and crimen injuria. Karel Prinsloo and Johannes Stassen allegedly assaulted Thato Lepinka and damaged his vehicle in a parking lot of the Willoway Shopping Centre in Garsfontein.
* The KwaZulu-Natal government has offered financial support towards the funeral of gqom artist Mandla "Mampintsha" Maphumulo. Mampintsha's funeral is due to be held at Durban's Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre tomorrow. His memorial service will be held today.
