Luanne Platter deserves the world! She is seriously one of my favorite characters on King of the Hill, not to mention an incredible voice performance from Brittany Murphy. But I think what makes Luanne most interesting is how resilient she is, how much she overcame throughout the show, and how she grew into a stronger, more independent person through those trials and tribulations. Luanne’s story is also pretty focused on agency, she’s a character who is constantly being told what to do and how to think, and her character works best when she takes her destiny into her own hands. And though I may have a few issues with how they handled her story in the latter seasons, I still think overall she has one of the strongest arcs of any character in the series. So let’s do a deep dive into the life of Luanne Platter.
