Donna performs along with Dick Dale "Muscle Bustle" in the 1964 AIP film "Muscle Beach Party". Ms Loren later released this song as a 45rpm on Challenge Records without Dick Dale. Lyrics and Music are by Roger Christian, Gary Usher and Brian Wilson (of the Beachboys). Donna was the "Dr Pepper Girl" and contractually, her employer demanded that she preserve her clean image by not showing her navel. You will see Dr Pepper products displayed conspicuously in all five of the Beach Party films she appeared in. Along with Donna Loren, this second film in the Beach Party series starred Annette Funicello, Frankie Avalon, Don Rickles, Peter Lupus, Morey Amsterdam, Stevie Wonder, Peter Lorre, Dan Haggerty, Buddy Hackett, Roger Christian, Guy Hemric, Gary Usher, Buster Keaton, Harvey Lembeck, Jody McCrea, Candy Johnson, Mary Hughes. This scene was filmed on stage near Paramount Studios.
Donna Loren was the one-and-only "Dr Pepper Girl" from 1963 to 1968. She was signed to a long-term contract with the soft-drink company to sing all television and radio commercials, do all magazine and billboard advertising representing them in every capacity, sometimes sharing the spotlight with American Bandstand's Dick Clark. This relationship led to her touring in Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars with other popular acts like Diana Ross and The Supremes and singing solos in the popular Beach Party films starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. Later, she became the regular female vocalist on the popular 60's American live rock n roll TV show "Shindig" and she appeared in singing and acting roles in many iconic TV shows like Batman, The Monkees, Gomer Pyle, The Mothers-In-Law, Red Skelton, Milton Berle and various game shows. She's released 22 singles, an LP and 5 CD's.
