Twitter accounts belonging to several prominent journalists covering the company's owner, Elon Musk, have been abruptly suspended.

Reporters for the New York Times, CNN and the Washington Post are among those who found themselves locked out of their accounts on Thursday evening.

A Twitter spokeswoman told tech website The Verge that the ban was related to the live sharing of location data.

It comes after Mr Musk vowed to sue the owner of a profile that tracks his jet.

A spokesman for the New York Times called the suspensions "questionable and unfortunate" and CNN added it was “concerning but not surprising".

Four people have died and dozens were rescued after a small boat filled with migrants heading for British shores from France capsized in the freezing waters of the English Channel.

Lifeboats, helicopters and rescue teams working with the French and British navies responded to the emergency.

Attempts to stop the arrival of thousands of migrants in small boats have become a priority for the UK government.

BBCのサバ・ザヴァレイ記者の元には、抗議開始から2カ月半以上にわたり、女性たちが記したメモや音声、文章、絵が送られてきている。

Ten people, including five children, have been killed in a fire in an apartment building near Lyon, France, the local government has said.

Officials released a statement saying a "sizeable fire" broke out in a seven-storey block of flats in the suburb of Vaulx-en-Velin.

Four people are in a critical condition and 10 others reported minor injuries, including two firefighters.

The fire has now been put out and the cause of the blaze is still unknown.

Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has been charged with defrauding investors of billions of dollars by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The SEC said Mr Bankman-Fried, who was arrested in the Bahamas on Monday, had “built a house of cards on a foundation of deception”.

It is alleged Mr Bankman-Fried used FTX customers’ funds for his privately-held crypto hedge fund, Alameda Research LLC.

A court filing shows FTX owed its 50 largest creditors almost $3.1bn.

US President Joe Biden has said he would be ready to meet Russia's Vladimir Putin "if in fact there is an interest in him deciding that he's looking for a way to end the war".

Addressing reporters alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, he stressed Mr Putin had not yet done that and the two leaders said they would continue to stand against Russia's war.

In response, the Kremlin said President Putin remained open to talks, but not on the West's demand to pull out of Ukraine. It added the West's refusal to recognise "new territories" seized from Ukraine makes peace talks harder.

Belgian investigators have searched offices at the European Parliament in Brussels, as part of an investigation into alleged bribes from World Cup hosts Qatar.

It was the 20th search carried out since Friday and the parliament president, Roberta Metsola, warned MEPs that "democracy is under attack".

Belgian police have charged four people, among them European Parliament Vice-President Eva Kaili, a Greek MEP.

Qatar has denied any wrongdoing and Ms Kaili's lawyer says she is innocent.

Iran has been rocked by daily protests since a young woman, Mahsa Amini, died in custody after being detained by Iran's morality police for not wearing her headscarf correctly.
