Belgian investigators have searched offices at the European Parliament in Brussels, as part of an investigation into alleged bribes from World Cup hosts Qatar.

It was the 20th search carried out since Friday and the parliament president, Roberta Metsola, warned MEPs that "democracy is under attack".

Belgian police have charged four people, among them European Parliament Vice-President Eva Kaili, a Greek MEP.

Qatar has denied any wrongdoing and Ms Kaili's lawyer says she is innocent.

अरुणाचल प्रदेश को 'तिब्बत' क्यों कहता है चीन? चीन अरुणाचल प्रदेश में 90 हज़ार वर्ग किलोमीटर ज़मीन पर अपना दावा करता है जबकि भारत कहता है कि चीन ने पश्चिम में अक्साई चिन के 38 हज़ार वर्ग किलोमीटर क्षेत्र अवैध रूप से क़ब्ज़ा कर रखा है. चीन अरुणाचल प्रदेश को दक्षिणी तिब्बत बताता है. दोनों देशों के बीच 3,500 किलोमीटर (2,174 मील) लंबी सीमा है. 1912 तक तिब्बत और भारत के बीच कोई स्पष्ट सीमा रेखा नहीं खींची गई थी. देखिए ये रिपोर्ट.

भारत और चीन की सीमाओं पर एक बार फिर से तनाव बढ़ गया है. इस बार तनाव के केंद्र में लद्दाख की जगह अरुणाचल प्रदेश की सीमाएं हैं. इसकी वजह है कि 9 दिसंबर की सुबह तवांग सेक्टर के यांग्त्से में भारत और चीन के सैनिकों के बीच हिंसक झड़प हुई. इस झड़प में कुछ भारतीय सैनिकों को चोटें भी आई. इससे पहले गलवान की हिंसक झड़प में 20 भारतीय जवानों की मौत हो गई थी, जिसके बाद दोनों देशों के बीच अपने चरम पर पहुंच गया था. गलवान से पहले दोनों देश डोकलाम में करीब ढाई महीने तक एक दूसरे के सामने तने रहे. पिछले सात साल में चीन और भारत के बीच एक तरफ जहां गतिरोध बढ़ा है वहीं दूसरी तरफ चीन पर भारत की निर्भरता में भी कोई कमी नहीं है. इस बीच चीन से सामान खरीदने में भारत ने करीब साठ प्रतिशत की बढ़ोतरी की है.

US President Joe Biden has said he would be ready to meet Russia's Vladimir Putin "if in fact there is an interest in him deciding that he's looking for a way to end the war".

Addressing reporters alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, he stressed Mr Putin had not yet done that and the two leaders said they would continue to stand against Russia's war.

In response, the Kremlin said President Putin remained open to talks, but not on the West's demand to pull out of Ukraine. It added the West's refusal to recognise "new territories" seized from Ukraine makes peace talks harder.

Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has been charged with defrauding investors of billions of dollars by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The SEC said Mr Bankman-Fried, who was arrested in the Bahamas on Monday, had “built a house of cards on a foundation of deception”.

It is alleged Mr Bankman-Fried used FTX customers’ funds for his privately-held crypto hedge fund, Alameda Research LLC.

A court filing shows FTX owed its 50 largest creditors almost $3.1bn.

It’s reported that Russian missiles have struck a farm in Poland near its border with Ukraine, killing two people.

It came on a day that Russia launched a mass wave of missile attacks across Ukraine.

Russia dismissed claims that it was responsible for the missile strike in Poland, calling them "a deliberate provocation in order to escalate the situation".

The US and other international powers said they were investigating and did not immediately attribute blame.

The Polish government has been holding emergency talks and said it was putting some military units on heightened alert.

If the missiles are confirmed to be Russian, it would mark the first time its missiles had landed on the territory of a Nato member, raising the question of how the security alliance would respond.

There has been speculation that the strikes in Poland could be due to a missile malfunction, or the result of Ukraine’s air defence systems knocking a Russian missile off course.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of deliberately attacking Poland and demanded a tough NATO response.

Ten people, including five children, have been killed in a fire in an apartment building near Lyon, France, the local government has said.

Officials released a statement saying a "sizeable fire" broke out in a seven-storey block of flats in the suburb of Vaulx-en-Velin.

Four people are in a critical condition and 10 others reported minor injuries, including two firefighters.

The fire has now been put out and the cause of the blaze is still unknown.
