Russian forces fired 60 missiles and carried out drone attacks across Ukraine on Friday, officials said, striking the capital Kyiv and cities in the north, south, west and centre.

Two people were killed when a residential building was hit in Kryvyi Rih and a third died in Kherson.

Attacks have intensified this week as Russia targets Ukraine's civilian infrastructure.

Power was completely down in Kharkiv in the north and several other regions.

Four people have died and dozens were rescued after a small boat filled with migrants heading for British shores from France capsized in the freezing waters of the English Channel.

Lifeboats, helicopters and rescue teams working with the French and British navies responded to the emergency.

Attempts to stop the arrival of thousands of migrants in small boats have become a priority for the UK government.

Twitter accounts belonging to several prominent journalists covering the company's owner, Elon Musk, have been abruptly suspended.

Reporters for the New York Times, CNN and the Washington Post are among those who found themselves locked out of their accounts on Thursday evening.

A Twitter spokeswoman told tech website The Verge that the ban was related to the live sharing of location data.

It comes after Mr Musk vowed to sue the owner of a profile that tracks his jet.

A spokesman for the New York Times called the suspensions "questionable and unfortunate" and CNN added it was “concerning but not surprising".

Work is continuing in Ukraine to restore electricity in homes, hospitals and critical infrastructure following the ninth wave of Russian missile strikes on Friday.

The attacks have targeted civilian infrastructure, as temperatures drop below freezing in many regions.

Kyiv has accused Moscow of using winter as a weapon.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Russia has enough missiles to carry out yet more heavy strikes, but added that Ukrainians will resist.

A giant aquarium containing a million litres of water in the lobby of the Radisson Blu in Berlin has burst, flooding the hotel and nearby streets.

The "AquaDom" - home to 1,500 tropical fish - is 14m high (46 ft) and was described as the largest free-standing cylindrical aquarium in the world.

Two people were reportedly injured by glass and local police said there had been "incredible" damage.

Guests have been moved out of the hotel following the incident at 05:50 (04:50 GMT).

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced a new five-point plan to stop illegal immigration into Britain.

The plans include doubling the number of Home Office caseworkers, a new deal with Albania, a Small Boats Command Centre, doubling National Crime Agency funding, and to move up to 10,000 asylum seekers out of hotel accommodation.

Newsnight's UK Editor Sima Kotecha investigates whether this new plan will reduce the number of small boat crossings.

About 41% of start-up founders at Paris’ Station F campus are female – higher than that of the wider international tech scene.

But getting a spot at the biggest start up firm campus in the world is tough, where founders are generally expected to be working on their product full-time and have a prototype.

For Dora Sabino, founder of Blazar, said being a founder of a start up in med tech in an environment typically has more men as CEOs can be “daunting” for some.

Roxanne Varza, the director of Station F, said 10 years ago people were not even “conscious there was a gender issue in tech”, but today they are very engaged.

“Every single partner programme that we have at Station F need to do its best effort to get females in the applicant pool,” she said.

Nos últimos dias, o Irã tem executado jovens que participaram dos protestos que tomaram as ruas do país. Em ao menos dois casos, o suposto crime foi o moharebeh, ou “ódio contra Deus” em persa.

Mohsen Shekari e Majidreza Rahnavard, ambos de 23 anos, foram enforcados poucos dias depois de terem sido condenados pela Justiça.

O primeiro foi condenado por atacar, com uma faca, um membro de uma organização paramilitar ligada aos clérigos iranianos.

O segundo, por supostamente matar dois homens dessa mesma organização.

Mas grupos de direitos humanos dizem que os dois não tiveram direito a um julgamento justo e isento.

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

The Queen came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.

With her death, her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, will lead the country in mourning as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon."
